The time has arrived for the all new 2020 Land Rover Defender to be revealed. Good, Bad or Indifferent it certainly has a tough act to follow. With a host of factory optional extras available Land Rover has left scope for BESPOKE to add their own touches. Creating your vision in the Defender of your choice.
Even though it shares a name with it’s predecessor that is about as far as it goes, it is inherently a different vehicle to the one we all know and love.
The interior has been left quite standard, and unappealing following the trend of the JLR range. To become truly BESPOKE Defender our design team are working on the following areas – Interior seating, door furniture, and audio/tech upgrades, add these to select performance options such as enhanced power and handling and the new 2020 Defender certainly has a place in the BESPOKE family.
This in now way detracts from the classic beloved Defender so old or new your journey begins with BESPOKE.

The original Land Rover Defender hinges are riddled with longevity issues. Due to the construction and materials used rust tends to build up and leak down onto the bodywork staining the paintwork.
The hinges are also prone to dropping meaning the doors don’t always align properly making it much harder to maintain a watertight seal. We have a permanent solution to this problem.
The hinges have been designed and built with high strength Aluminium which in turn is protected with an anodized coating giving a perfectly smooth high strength surface.
The hinge is fitted with a centre bolt made from stainless steel inclusive of a thick helical groove which allows the bolt to hold on to the grease and disperse it evenly. Each component of the hinge is exchangeable right down to the friction bearings to allow for easy maintenance.
On top of all this we provide a new and improved gasket seal to protect the paintwork of your beloved Defender.
Alongside the hinges for the front doors, 2nd row and the rear door we are introducing replacements for the bonnet and matching window blocks.
The all new bonnet hinges are not only the perfect match for the doors being precisely manufactured but also add a further level of theft protection as the original fitting is improved upon no longer allowing anyone to unhook the hood any more.
We already offer to our clients a stainless steel security bolt option but alongside these new hinges we are developing an entire exterior security stainless steel bolt pack to include all hinges, exterior furniture and lights giving you even more peace of mind with the increased security aspect.
SPECTRE (SPecial Executive for Counterintelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) first appeared in Ian Fleming’s James Bond novel Thunderball (1961) and in the film Dr No (1962) led by super-villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Clearly, the operatives of such a criminal organisation would need their own specially adapted vehicles to cope with the Alpine terrain, so Sony Pictures contacted Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division to supply ten Defenders.
In its standard form the friendly and familiar Defender would have lacked the aura of menace required for the SPECTRE vehicles, so the ten movie cars were sent to marque specialists Bowler, a company recognised for over 30 years as market leaders in the design, engineering, and production of class-leading custom vehicles. Bowler then transformed them from standard Defender 110 crew-cab models into vehicles worthy of a Bond villain. Finished in sinister Santorini Black, the result was the SVX, or Spectre Defender.
The transformation’s most striking element is the huge 37″-diameter all-terrain tyres, which has given the Spectre Defender the nickname ‘Bigfoot’. Built to Bowler’s racing specification, the suspension incorporates Rose joints and Bilstein rally dampers. The interior features Recaro seats with 4-point harnesses, while the full roll cage runs both internally and externally. The engine too has been significantly upgraded, producing 185bhp (up from the stock 120 horsepower) and 368lb/ft of torque.
Unlike most of the other Spectres, which were used only for publicity purposes or not at all, this example was used extensively in the filming and still has marks on its bonnet left by the stuntmen. Unusually, it retains its mechanical handbrake and ‘SVX’ boot badges (most of the other vehicles had theirs removed) and also key tags identifying it as an official film car, etc. The first private owner had the pick of all ten Spectre Defenders and chose this one as it is the most significant.
Representing a possibly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the most memorable’ Bond’ vehicles of recent times, this imposing Spectre Defender if offered with the owner’s wallet containing the handbook and (blank) service booklet; current MoT certificate; UK V5C document for the most appropriate registration ‘OO07 SVX’; and a framed presentation featuring movie stills, the shooting schedule, and an Austrian licence plate.

BESPOKE Build No 168 was left in the customers garden unloved and unused for 2 years. The customer decided to pay the BESPOKE showroom a visit whilst in the area. After an afternoon browsing the BESPOKE options they went away and came back with a full wish list to include an individual Matte finish paint. We then collected their Defender from the static garden position and brought it back to our workshop for the work to begin.
The Defender was subjected to a complete strip down and body preparation for the full body respray to start, before rebuilding the vehicle to the customers chosen specification. The interior complemented the paintwork excellently with Black Nappa Leather and the perfect contrasting grey double diamond stitching, matching grey seatbelts and a matching 2nd row Sports Seat and cubby box conversion. Once completed the car was serviced, flew through the MOT and was returned to the overjoyed client. Whatever your vision we can make it happen.
